About the role: 

We’re launching a new Financial Infrastructure team at Traild to build the next generation of our payments and platform capabilities from the ground up. This is a founding engineering role in our Tel Aviv office, with significant ownership, autonomy, and technical influence from day one. 

You’ll design and build foundational systems that power Traild’s platform, working on high-impact, mission-critical services and helping set the technical bar for the team. 

What you’ll do: 

• Own features end-to-end – Take ideas from early concept through production. You won’t just write code — you’ll ship real systems, iterate quickly, and see the impact of your work in production. 

• Think beyond the task – Take initiative, understand the broader system and business context, and help drive both product and technical decisions. This is not a ticket-driven role. 

• Leverage AI-accelerated development practices – Use modern AI coding tools to improve development velocity, code quality, and testing efficiency while building robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure. 

• Backend-focused, full-stack mindset – Your core focus will be backend systems, but you’re comfortable operating across APIs, data, infrastructure, and DevOps when needed. 

• Design for scale – Build backend services that are reliable, maintainable, and architected to scale with the platform. 

What you will bring: 

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong backend focus

• Proven experience building or operating large-scale payment infrastructure in fintech, payments, or high-volume transaction environments

• Experience owning real-time, mission-critical systems where low latency, correctness, and high availability are essential

• Proven track record of taking products and systems from 0 to 1, balancing speed, quality, and innovative problem-solving

• Strong builder mindset with experience taking complex systems from idea to production and scaling them in production

• Comfortable operating across the stack when needed, from APIs and business logic to infrastructure and deployment

• Production experience with Python and Go, building scalable backend and high-performance services

• Deep experience building and operating systems on GCP

• Modern engineering mindset, leveraging automation and AI tools to increase impact and velocity

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in small, senior teams
