The Role: Want to be a part of our exciting growth journey? 

We are looking for a talented, passionate, and motivated individual to join our team as a Staff Frontend Engineer, where you will play a critical role in designing and delivering intuitive, high-performing user interfaces across Traild’s platform in the Product & Engineering team. 

You will lead front-end development efforts for customer-facing features, ensuring the highest standards of performance, usability, and accessibility. 

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern JavaScript frameworks, we use Angular but you may have experience of React or Vue, a strong eye for design detail, and a passion for delivering great user experiences. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Develop scalable and maintainable front-end components using Angular JavaScript frameworks. With your expertise, you will be able to create efficient and well-structured code that meets the high standards of performance, usability, and accessibility.

• Collaborate closely with designers, back-end engineers, and product managers to deliver high-quality features and products. Your ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams will be key to the success of this role.

• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability. This will involve identifying areas for improvement, implementing solutions, and ensuring that the resulting codebase is maintainable and efficient.

• Maintain and improve front-end infrastructure, ensuring best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation. Your focus on delivering high-quality code and maintaining a well-organized codebase will be essential to the success of this role.

• Participate in design and code reviews and mentor junior engineers. As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will be responsible for guiding and mentoring junior engineers, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge.

• Contribute to improving our development processes and tools. Your input will help us to streamline our development processes, improve our tools, and make our development experience more efficient.

Who You Are:

• Extensive experience in front-end development with a focus on building complex web applications. Your experience in designing and delivering high-quality, scalable, and maintainable front-end components will be invaluable to this role.

• Experience within Financial Services, Payments and/or Fintech is preferred. Your understanding of the financial services industry and ability to apply your knowledge to this role will be a significant asset.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and one or more modern frameworks like Angular, React or Vue. Your expertise in modern JavaScript frameworks will be essential to the success of this role.

• Experience working with RESTful APIs and modern front-end build pipelines and tools (Webpack, Babel, etc.). Your ability to work with RESTful APIs and modern front-end build pipelines and tools will be key to the success of this role.

• Familiarity with testing libraries and frameworks (Jest, Cypress, etc.). Your understanding of testing libraries and frameworks will help us to ensure the quality and reliability of our front-end components.

• Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility. Your attention to detail and understanding of responsive design principles will be essential to ensuring that our front-end components are accessible and usable across different devices and browsers.

• Experience in a cloud-native, microservices-based architecture is a plus. Your understanding of cloud-native, microservices-based architecture will help us to design and deliver scalable and maintainable front-end components.

• Knowledge of design systems and a keen attention to UI/UX detail. Your ability to apply design systems and attention to UI/UX detail will be key to delivering high-quality front-end components.

• You care deeply about customers and creating experiences that delight them. Your passion for delivering great user experiences and commitment to customer satisfaction will be essential to the success of this role.

• Strong collaborator with an attitude embracing growth, hands-on execution, adaptability, and the scale-up spirit. Your ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing priorities will be key to the success of this role.
