We are looking for an APAC Legal Counsel to join Multiplier’s Offboarding and Litigation Legal Team. This role will focus on employment and labour law matters across the APAC region, including employee offboarding, disciplinary and performance processes, redundancies, mutual separations, grievances and employment disputes.
This is a fully remote role open to candidates based across APAC. Candidates based in Vietnam or Indonesia are particularly encouraged to apply; however, applications from other APAC jurisdictions will also be considered.
Qualified lawyer in an APAC jurisdiction, with approximately 3 or more years of relevant post-qualification experience.
Experience in Vietnam or Indonesia is strongly preferred.
Strong practical experience in employment and labour law in at least one APAC jurisdiction.
Demonstrated experience advising on employee terminations, redundancies, mutual separations, disciplinary matters, performance management, grievances or employment disputes.
Full professional fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
Ability to draft clear and commercially practical legal advice, termination documentation, settlement agreements, legal notices and internal guidance.
Experience managing external counsel and coordinating employment matters across different jurisdictions is an advantage.
Strong legal research, analytical and risk-assessment skills.
Ability to manage a high volume of matters, prioritise urgent cases and meet strict legal and operational deadlines.
Comfortable working independently in a fully remote and fast-paced international environment.
Ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to clients and non-legal teams.
Practical, solutions-oriented and commercially aware approach to legal risk.
Experience working in-house, within an international law firm or in a multinational, technology, HR or Employer of Record environment is preferred.
Provide practical employment-law advice on employee offboarding and contentious employment matters across APAC.
Advise on terminations, redundancies, mutual separation agreements, performance management, disciplinary procedures, grievances and other employment-related processes.
Assess the legal and commercial risks of proposed offboarding strategies and recommend compliant, practical solutions.
Draft and review termination letters, settlement agreements, disciplinary documentation, legal opinions, consultation materials and other employment-related documents.
Manage employment disputes, threatened claims and litigation, working with external counsel where necessary.
Work closely with internal Legal, HR, Payroll, Operations and Customer Success teams to ensure legally compliant and timely case management.
Communicate directly with clients, explain applicable legal requirements and provide clear recommendations on available options, procedures, costs and risks.
Monitor developments in APAC employment law and maintain internal country guidance, templates and legal processes.
Support the improvement and standardisation of offboarding and litigation processes across the APAC region.
Maintain accurate case records and proactively manage deadlines, dependencies and stakeholder expectations.
