About the Role

Varo is seeking a talented and energetic Business Systems Analyst to join our team. In this role, the candidate will review, analyze, and evaluate business IT systems and user needs. We are looking for a candidate with extensive knowledge and experience in managing, configuring and integrating enterprise-level software systems, an ability to write detailed descriptions of application functions, and expertise in comparing current software tools to identify redundancies. Ensuring that our business systems are aligned with our overall business strategy and objectives is critical for this role. The candidate will also be responsible for overseeing the administration and automation of our Okta Identity Management, Google Workspace, Slack and Atlassian Suite environments.

How you'll make an impact

  • Responsible for analyzing and stream-lining business application systems in support of organizational objectives through collaboration and counsel with business partners, executives, and IT leaders focused on SaaS platforms whenever possible to deliver a high level of stability, compliance, security, flexibility and value to match the needs of the company

  • Responsible for translating business requirements into well-designed and integrated technology solutions, while improving user adoption and satisfaction

  • Recommend enhancements to applications in anticipation of business needs by partnering with Project Managers- Business Analysts and business partners to formulate and define scope or required business case analysis for new capital or operational expenses

  • Proactively drive continuous team adoption of approved methodologies and tools in support of high-quality outcomes, regulatory requirements, reduced costs, increased efficiencies, and improved system performance

  • Provide advanced technical support for escalated issues; collaborate with partners, vendors and team members to resolve issues if necessary

The skills and experiences you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical field

  • 3–5 years of business systems or equivalent technical experience

  • Experience building and supporting automations, API integrations, and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, Go, PowerShell)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, relationship-building mindset

  • Proven ability to gather requirements using interviews, workshops, observation, and document analysis

  • Ability to communicate with various stakeholders to transform business requirements into technical implementation

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to data confidentiality

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction

  • Strong presentation skills, effectively communicating at all levels of the organization

  • Administration and integration experience with AWS, Confluence, GitLab, Google Enterprise, Jira, macOS, Linux, Okta, Slack, and Terraform

  • Nice to have: Knowledge of banking or financial services, Experience developing IT policies and procedures, Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) architecture and administration, Business systems analyst certifications (e.g., Atlassian, Google Workspace, O365), Experience leading or supporting large-scale, IT-centric projects

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all US-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors as well as candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the identified range.
