Job Description:

Role: We are looking for a Software Development Engineer (SDE1) to join the Wizshop storefront platform team. Wizshop powers B2B storefronts built on WordPress, integrated with backend commerce APIs and custom widgets. This role involves working on WordPress-based storefronts, custom plugins/widgets, performance optimization, and API integrations. Candidates with React knowledge will have an added advantage, as parts of the platform and future enhancements involve modern frontend components.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain WordPress-based storefronts.

• Build and enhance custom WordPress plugins, themes, and Elementor widgets.

• Integrate storefronts with backend APIs and ensure smooth data flow.

• Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following coding standards.

• Debug and fix issues related to frontend behavior, API integrations, and performance.

• Optimize pages for performance, SEO, and scalability.

• Collaborate with design, backend, and product teams to implement features.

• Participate in code reviews and follow development best practices.

• Ensure backward compatibility and stability across multiple storefronts.

Requirements:

• 1–3 years of experience in WordPress development.

• Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, themes, plugins, Hooks (actions and filters), and REST API usage

• Good knowledge of: PHP, JavaScript, HTML5 / CSS3

• Experience integrating APIs using AJAX or REST endpoints.

• Understanding of Git-based workflows.

• Basic understanding of SEO fundamentals and performance optimization

Good to Have (Bonus Skills)

• Experience with React.js.

• Familiarity with: Headless or API-driven frontends, Web performance optimization techniques, Caching strategies

• Exposure to Elementor custom widget development.

• Understanding of WooCommerce or similar e-commerce platforms.
