About the Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer on our Life insurance Team, you'll be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, robust full-stack solutions that power our platform. 

To thrive in this role, you'll bring extensive experience in web development technologies. You'll lead technical design discussions, write high-quality code and documentation, implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement. Your ability to collaborate regularly with product managers, QA engineers and other engineering teams will be crucial for delivering successful features, ensuring platform stability and continuously improving infrastructure and observability practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance web services using Python and Django.

• Implement robust and intuitive front-end components using modern JavaScript frameworks to deliver seamless user experiences.

• Design, deploy and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS services, with a strong emphasis on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and orchestration with Kubernetes.

• Collaborate with product and design teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver impactful features.

• Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, including planning, design, coding, testing, deployment, and operational support. 

• Implement and maintain robust observability solutions (logging, monitoring, alerting) to ensure the health and performance of microservices.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

What you will bring:

• Bachelor/Masters degree in Computer Science or Engineering with at least 8 years of software engineering experience and at least 8 years of experience in full-stack software development, with a strong focus on back-end development.

• Demonstrated experience designing, building and maintaining high quality web services using Python and ideally other programming languages such as Typescript.

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.

• Demonstrated experience with relational and NoSQL databases e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB and effective data modelling.

• Proficiency with observability tools e.g. Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana for monitoring, logging and alerting.

• Experience using AI-coding assistive technologies efficiently for the day to day tasks.
