About the role

As a Lead Pricing & Reserving Actuary within our EMEA Insurance Team, you will play a key role within our team to provide pricing, data analysis and lead with recommendations to support our diverse range of insurance products. You will work closely with ‎internal and external stakeholders such as underwriters, finance and pricing actuaries to provide ‎innovative solutions to our partners.‎

To drive success in this role, you will have a high degree of curiosity and willingness to drive value from our insurance and distribution partnerships. In your role, you will leverage your analytical skills to oversee pricing reviews, experiments and overall performance assessments with the clear goal of maximising value across the insurance value chain while ensuring good customer outcomes for our end customers.

Regular cooperation with our Insurance Product, Compliance, Data & Analytics, Customer & Claims and Partner Services teams is essential to guarantee operational excellence, cost efficiency, and a positive impact on CG’s profitability, program sustainability and end customer experience.

What will your day look like? You will...

Contribute to and support the development and implementation of new products through initial pricing and underwriting guidelines.
Support the insurance partnerships teams with ad-hoc and scheduled reviews of rate development, LR monitoring and product development stages (new and existing partners)
Work closely with the Data and Platform Teams (including Machine Learning & software engineering specialists) to design and develop our unique insurance products
Utilise knowledge of actuarial pricing methodology and concepts to produce pricing, risk management and product recommendations.
Provide insights to internal and external stakeholders to support insurance partners, internal insurance carrier and reinsurer relationships.
Contribute to and support the implementation of product strategy through pricing to achieve business objectives.
Demonstrate a positive and proactive approach with stakeholders and address their concerns.
Develop skills in relevant data and modelling software to contribute for development and implementation of best practice in pricing, modelling and dashboards.
Responsibility for setting the reserves for Cover Genius’s captive insurance vehicles both for the statutory filings and for quarterly management of the balance sheet
Build and own dashboards for different market segments to monitor loss ratio

To help us level up, you'll ideally have:

Degree in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics or Data Science.
Fellow or Associate Qualified actuary.
8+ years of actuarial experience in the property & casualty/non-life insurance industry.
Experience working in General Insurance lines of business.
Strong technical, analytical and mathematical skills.
Strong SQL and Excel skills. Programming skills in R and/or Python skills desirable.
Ability to interpret and communicate data to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to independently take initiative on projects.
