Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

Digantara is a leading Space Surveillance and Intelligence company focused on ensuring orbital safety and sustainability. With expertise in space-based detection, tracking, identification, and monitoring, Digantara provides comprehensive domain awareness across all regimes, enabling end-users to access actionable intelligence on a single platform. At the core of its infrastructure lies a sophisticated integration of hardware and software capabilities aligned with the key principles of situational awareness: perception (data collection), comprehension (data processing), and prediction (analytics). This holistic approach empowers Digantara to monitor all Resident Space Objects (RSOs) in orbit, fostering comprehensive domain awareness.

Digantara is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Thermal Engineer Intern to join our dynamic team. As a Thermal Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on the design, development, and implementation of thermal control systems for payload and satellite subsystems.

Why Us?

  • Competitive incentives, galvanizing workspace, blazing team, frequent outings—pretty much everything you have heard about a startup, plus you get to work on space technology

  • Hustle in a well-funded startup, allowing you to take charge of your responsibilities and create your moonshot

Ideal Candidate:

Someone with a strong foundation in thermal engineering principles, a passion for design and analysis, and a willingness to learn and grow with our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating thermal models of payload and satellite subsystems, and conduct simulations by determining the appropriate boundary conditions

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to select and implement active/passive thermal components to achieve optimal thermal performance

  • Assist in analysing thermal interfaces, heat sinks for electronic packages/avionics, and develop appropriate thermal control schemes

  • Contribute to generating thermal control system requirements in collaboration with system, mission, structures, and avionics engineers

  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to design and develop thermal control systems

  • Assist in generating test plans and executing tests to validate the thermal performance of subsystems

  • Develop and maintain documentation of thermal design and analysis processes

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless integration of thermal design and analysis into overall system design and development

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Thermal/Aerospace Engineering or a related field

  • Basic understanding of thermal management and implementation techniques
