FPGA Engineer - Control Systems
Job type: Full Time · Department: Engineering · Work type: On-Site
Bengaluru, Karnataka, India
Digantara is building the world’s first maps for space, Space-Mission Assurance Platform™ (Space-MAP™). Space-MAP™ represents a revolutionary end-to-end infrastructure for sustainable space operations, offering a comprehensive space situational awareness solution that simplifies and strengthens satellite operations in the face of the rapidly expanding commercialization of space.
Space-MAP™ is powered by accurate data gathered by advanced ground-based and space-based sensors. LiDARs will form an integral part of these space-based sensors, providing precise range information. FPGAs are crucial for carrying out onboard processing of the raw data from these sensors, extracting useful information, enabling real-time control, and facilitating decision-making.
Digantara is seeking an FPGA Engineer (Control Systems) to develop FPGA-based systems for controlling opto-electronic systems and performing real-time signal processing.
Competitive incentives, galvanising workspace, blazing team, frequent outings—pretty much everything that you have heard about a startup + you get to work on satellites.
Hustle in a well-funded startup that allows you to take charge of your responsibilities and create your own moonshot.
A person with experience building high-speed FPGA-based control systems for aerospace/space applications.
Develop FPGA designs for real-time control of multiple opto-electronic systems and high-speed signal processing.
Translate existing high-level programs to VHDL/Verilog as needed for system-level control.
Create and efficiently use custom IP (Intellectual Property) blocks for RTL development.
Optimize, verify and debug RTL for high-speed applications.
Define and conduct testing and troubleshooting using development boards.
Document the design and development iterations of RTL following standard industry practices.
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electronics / Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
3 – 5 years of experience in creating and implementing FPGA designs for real-time signal processing and control systems for multiple devices.
Proficiency in VHDL/Verilog and Xilinx Vivado.
Good understanding of digital electronics; exposure to embedded C/C++.
Good knowledge of control algorithms/pipelines and image/signal processing.
Familiarity with tools such as Xilinx Vitis and Siemens QuestaSim.
Hands-on experience in performing simulation, validation, and hardware-in-the-loop testing of FPGA-based control systems
Ability to work in a mission-focused, operational environment.
Ability to think critically and make independent decisions.
Interpersonal skills to enable working in a diverse and dynamic team.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Writing and delivering technical documents and briefings.
Verbal and written communication skills, as well as organisational skills.
Travel occasionally as necessary.
