This holistic approach empowers Digantara to monitor all Resident Space Objects(RSOs) in orbit, fostering comprehensive domain awareness.

Digantara is seeking an AVP of Applied Mathematics and Algorithms to lead the development of cutting-edge SSA algorithms and deploy them in operational environments.

Ideal candidate

  • Someone who has demonstrated experience in leading mathematicians to solve complex, hard engineering problems to develop operationally relevant solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • ~10 years’ experience in algorithm development.

  • Proficiency in multiple mathematical methods like KFs, UKFs, Least Squares, numerical integration, GNN, random walk, Bayesian techniques, uncertainty quantification, uncertainty propagation etc.

  • Extensive knowledge on utilizing mathematical methods to solve hard engineering problems and deploying it in operational environments.

  • Ability and willingness to implement their expertise in a new field like SSA.

  • Has lead team of at least 15.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in making algorithms computationally efficient.

  • Demonstrated expertise in transforming an experimental code into a production code.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and execute strategies for developing algorithms to solve multiple problems within the SSA ecosystem.

  • Create a culture that fosters acceleration in the algorithm development lifecycle.

  • Be hands-on and street-smart in figuring out ways how to reach the current “state of the art” quickly.

  • Once the current “state of the art” is achieved, figure out how to further improve the algorithms or create entirely new set of algorithms.

  • Debugging intricate algorithms can take weeks or months sometimes, help your team in debugging their codes faster.

  • Work on integrating multiple algorithms into a single unified solution.

  • Work with software team to deploy algorithms in operational and production environments.

  • Interact with software teams in reducing the time for transforming experimental code to production code.

  • Implement computational optimization in the algorithms.
