Digantara is a leading Space Surveillance and Intelligence company focused on ensuring orbital safety and sustainability. With expertise in space-based detection, tracking, identification, and monitoring, Digantara provides comprehensive domain awareness across regimes, allowing end users to have actionable intelligence on a single platform. At the core of its infrastructure lies a sophisticated integration of hardware and software capabilities aligned with the key principles of situational awareness: perception (data collection), comprehension (data processing), and prediction (analytics). This holistic approach empowers Digantara to monitor all Resident Space Objects (RSOs) in orbit, fostering comprehensive domain awareness.

Digantara seeks a Lead Satellite Onboard Computer (OBC) engineer to join our dynamic team in conceptualizing and architecting the OBC. The engineer will be responsible for leading a team of analog, embedded hardware, and embedded software engineers to design, develop, and realize a state-of-the-art OBC for a cubesat/microsat bus.

Why Us?

  • Be part of a collaborative and innovative environment where your ideas and skills make a real difference to the entire space realm

  • Push the boundaries with hands-on experience, greater responsibilities, and rapid career advancement

  • Competitive incentives, galvanizing workspace, blazing team—pretty much everything you have heard about a startup

Ideal Candidate

  • Someone with expertise in leading the design and development of OBC for CubeSat/MicroSat satellites designed to operate in Low Earth Orbit(LEO), with a strong focus on high performance and fault tolerance.

Responsibilities

  • Architect the CubeSat/MicroSat OBC and optimize its configuration to meet the satellite bus and payload requirements.

  • Generate the OBC hardware and flight software requirements in collaboration with subsystem and payload design engineers.

  • Lead the analog, embedded hardware, and software engineers team to develop an OBC capable of telemetry, telecommand handling, AOCS interface, and payload data management.

  • Develop the robust flight software architecture, FDIR requirements, and software verification and validation strategy.

  • Mentor the engineers in designing OBC, payload interface units, and review the schematics and simulation results.

  • Develop the comprehensive test procedures for subsystem-level and satellite-level interface tests and resolve observations during the integration and test phases.

Qualifications

  • B.Tech/B.E in Electronics Engineering or M.Tech/M.E or PhD degree in Electronics design/Microelectronics/VLSI.

  • 6 to 10 years of demonstrated experience in the design and development of onboard computer/payload interface units for LEO satellites.

  • Experience implementing fault-tolerant embedded systems with knowledge of CCSDS standards for telemetry, telecommand, and payload data handling.

  • Strong proficiency in bare-metal and RTOS programming for embedded systems, with expertise in real-time scheduling and interrupt handling.

  • Proficiency in Embedded C and C/C++ programming languages.

  • Strong understanding of data communication protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, Gigabit Ethernet, LVDS, RS422/485, etc.

  • Strong expertise in understanding and implementation of EMI/EMC control with best design practices.
