The Business Solutions Architect serves as a strategic and hands-on partner to both business and technology teams, bridging the gap between operational needs and technical solutions. This role is central to large-scale banking modernization and digital transformation initiatives—such as core banking system overhauls—by ensuring business alignment, regulatory compliance, and efficient technology integration.

The ideal candidate must excel at stakeholder communication, analytical thinking, and guiding clients toward optimal outcomes through a consultative, relationship-driven approach. They must possess a deep understanding of banking operations with the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Banking operations: retail, commercial, business experience.

  • Experience with Core Ecosystems: Familiarity with platforms such as Fiserv, Finxact, Bottomline, Q2, Savana is a plus.

  • Regulatory Awareness: Working knowledge of BSA/AML and OFAC requirements.

  • Tool Familiarity: Experience with Jira, Miro, Figma, Lucid, and/or Visio preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.

  • 5+ years’ experience in business architecture, business analysis, or solution design within the financial services or fintech industry.

Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

    • Serve as liaison across business, technology, and compliance teams, tailoring communication to varied audiences.

    • Build and maintain trust with internal and external partners, facilitating collaboration across functional silos.

    • Drive productive discussions that surface assumptions, challenge requirements when necessary, and maintain scope integrity throughout project delivery.

    • Present complex concepts and findings clearly and concisely to senior executives and operational teams alike.

    Business Analysis & Solution Design

    • Conduct discovery efforts to understand existing processes, identify inefficiencies, gaps, redundancies and define clear problem statements and root causes.

    • Collaborate with business stakeholders, technology teams, and vendor partners to define requirements, document business and functional specifications, and align solutions with business objectives.

    • Analyze the impact of deploying new technologies or systems while ensuring business continuity and compliance with industry regulations (e.g., BSA/AML, OFAC).

    • Develop process maps, workflows, and supporting documentation that capture and clarify design, development, and testing activities.

    • Translate complex processes into clear, visual narratives that effectively communicate insights, purpose, and impact to diverse audiences.

    • Lead the evaluation process by introducing well-considered solution options, outlining trade-offs, and guiding stakeholders toward decisions that balance efficiency, scalability, and compliance.

    Testing, Implementation & Continuous Improvement

    • Support and potentially execute user acceptance testing (UAT) and regression testing by developing test cases, managing execution, and validating outcomes.

    • Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless implementation and adoption of new systems and processes.

    • Monitor post-implementation performance, identify enhancement opportunities, and contribute to continuous improvement cycles.

    Consultative Leadership

    • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding them through change with empathy and insight.

    • Use a consultative approach to influence decisions—helping stakeholders arrive at optimal solutions.

    • Anticipate potential roadblocks and proactively propose creative, compliant, and pragmatic solutions.
