About Motion:

Motion is growing fast (3x YoY), our product is sticky and we recently raised $30M in Series B funding. We've doubled our headcount this year and have just under 50 team members.

We’ve built a new category of software to bridge the gap between performance marketers and creative teams. Our platform combines creative analytics, research, and strategy.  Motion is the command center for Creative Strategists.

Our customers are top ecom and DTC brands like Vuori, True Classic, The Farmer’s Dog, HexClad, and thousands more. They’ve used Motion to analyze over $6B in media spend.


About the role:

As a Creative Strategist, you’ll be responsible for analyzing ad performance, identifying creative opportunities, and shaping the direction of our creative efforts. You will create clear, insightful briefs that guide our creative team, and your work will directly impact the performance of the ad creatives we launch. 

You'll be the bridge between data and inspiration, making sure our creative output aligns with performance goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze performance data of creatives to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.

  • Conduct research and gather inspiration from various sources to fuel creative ideation.

  • Develop detailed creative briefs that inspire and guide the creative team, ensuring that the work aligns with campaign objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with the creative team, providing strategic direction and ensuring creatives are optimized for performance.

  • Monitor the performance of launched creatives and provide recommendations for ongoing optimization.

  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and new platforms to continually inspire and evolve our creative strategy.

  • Work with cross-functional teams, including performance marketing and product teams, to ensure alignment on creative direction and performance metrics.

Who you are:

  • 3-4 years of extensive media buying experience, particularly with Facebook (e.g. Growth Marketing, Creative Strategist, Media Buyer, Performance marketing etc.).

  • B2B experience is a plus, but extensive DTC experience required.

  • Understanding of the importance of creative in the paid media landscape

  • Strong understanding of ad performance metrics and how to translate data into actionable creative insights.

  • Experience with platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and other digital marketing channels.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; you know how to inspire and guide creative teams to meet business goals.

  • A passion for creativity and a knack for combining data with storytelling to craft engaging and high-performing ads.

  • Experience in building creative briefs and guiding projects from ideation to execution.


Motion has thrived in 2023, and 2024 has been a defining year here. We are finishing the year with fresh funding and exceptional signals from our clients. On top of this, our founding team has built successful companies before. This role offers an incredible opportunity to get in on the ground floor (we are only about 50 people right now) to help us build a category defining company in the “creative-tech” space.
