Business Development Director

As a Business Development Director for Neara, you will be responsible for commercial activities in support of our strategic targets and growth objectives in Europe and the UK. You will actively manage and grow relationships with our potential clients at different seniority levels, and have extensive experience in the utility sector. You will be reporting to the SVP & General Manager for Europe with whom you will be working closely to achieve targets for the European market.

To excel in this role, you need a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Power & Utility sector, with a strong grasp of the UK&I and European market dynamics and key players. It is advantageous to have an established network of contacts and a deep understanding of the UK&I and European ecosystem, including events, network associations, consultants, and regulators. Additionally, experience with various technologies and a quick adaptability to understand the impact of different solutions is highly desirable. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Develop and maintain key relationships across relevant target clients in the UK&I and European utility space

  • Perform market research and actively identify concrete commercial opportunities 

  • Originate deals through client outreach within your network and beyond

  • Maintain a pipeline of concrete commercial opportunities

  • Develop account plans and manage revenue growth

  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and projects for the wider organisation

  • Coordination of all project and client related formalities - e.g. contracting, invoicing and other requirements

  • Coordinate on delivery of client projects with our implementation specialists and product development team

WHO YOU ARE

  • Experience building strong and trusting relationships

  • Experience in opening doors and closing deals

  • Experience with selling software to large and complex organisations

  • A passion for renewable energy and wanting to make an impact 

  • Experience developing compelling and comprehensive bids for industry RfP/RfT’s

  • Highly sufficient in client research and able to work independently
