We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team at Sarvam AI, an innovative AI company revolutionizing the industry with cutting-edge solutions. As we scale, we are looking for a strong legal professional with a focus on technology law to shape our legal strategy, ensure compliance, and mitigate risks as we navigate new opportunities and challenges.

The ideal candidate will provide legal counsel on a variety of matters, including technology law, data privacy, intellectual property, contracts, governance, risk, and compliance. They will be responsible for negotiating and drafting Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and other commercial agreements, while ensuring that Sarvam AI maintains adherence to applicable laws and regulations.

Skills & Qualification

• Strong legal background with a focus on technology law, including contracts drafting, Legal Documentation Review, Compliance, Governance, and risk management.

• 5 to 7 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm or as an in-house counsel, with a focus on technology law, contract negotiation, and compliance.

• A 5-year law degree from a premier legal institution in India.

• Excellent negotiation and drafting skills, with the ability to navigate complex legal challenges and execute solutions effectively.

• Strong understanding of Indian laws and regulations, particularly in the tech and now, AI sector.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate legal considerations into business decisions and operations.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders, including regulators and internal teams.

• Self-starter with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, as part of a team.

• Ability to stay current with evolving legal issues, particularly in the tech and AI sectors, and bring practical solutions to the team.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on a variety of matters, including technology law, data privacy, intellectual property, contracts, governance, risk, and compliance.

• Negotiate and draft Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and other commercial agreements.

• Advise on corporate governance and compliance matters, helping Sarvam AI maintain adherence to applicable laws and regulations.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure legal considerations are integrated into business decisions and operations.

• Manage external legal resources and collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement effective legal strategies.

• Stay current with evolving legal issues, especially in the tech and AI sectors, and bring practical solutions to the team.

• Work closely with various regulators to help draft the AI policy of India.

• Collaborate with the team to develop and implement effective compliance frameworks and legal processes.

• Provide guidance and support on legal matters to various departments, including sales, marketing, and product development.

• Develop and maintain relationships with external counsel and other stakeholders to ensure Sarvam AI's legal interests are represented effectively.
