We’re looking for product-oriented, full-stack Senior Software Engineers to join us in building that experience. Together with your squad, you will be working on the products, interfaces, and systems that our clients trust everyday.

You’ll build end-to-end product features that deliver delightful user experiences, leveraging the entire tech stack to realise these goals, and be part of a team that is constantly tackling difficult questions of scale, architecture, and interaction. You’ll be exposed to complex technical challenges, the breadth of technologies and tools we use, and directly impact our customers’ lives by shipping meaningful products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship impactful product features across our user interfaces and backend systems, delivering efficient, scalable, and robust solutions using Typescript, Node, React Native, and Go.

  • Take end-to-end ownership of critical systems, ensuring their reliability and performance in production. This includes a strong focus on continuous deployment, observability, and incident response and resolution.

  • Raise the team’s technical bar by mentoring other engineers, conducting code reviews, and championing best practices.

  • Seek out blockers to team efficiency (e.g tech debt, developer experience, processes), and drive solutions that enable the team to iterate faster.

  • Leverage technological step changes like GenAI to improve our products, development process, and operations.

  • Collaborate in an agile environment alongside your team, product managers, designers and other cross-functional stakeholders, maintaining a high bar of delivery high-quality code while shipping product value at a fast pace.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in building production distributed systems at scale, typically seen in engineers with 4+ years of experience.

  • Versatility in working full-stack, with strong proficiency in:

    • At least one modern front-end tech stack. We use ReactJS and React Native

    • At least one modern backend tech stack. We use Typescript, Node, and Go

  • A strong product builder’s mindset with a passion for delivering customer value.

Projects You Might Work On

You’ll tackle a diverse range of high-impact challenges based on the squad you join. This may include:

  • Build delightful money transfer experiences - Tackle challenges in deposit and withdrawal flows. Initiatives include: instant deposit methods in various regions, and better deposit and withdrawal UX

  • Build new ways for people to invest - Ship key features that expand how our customer build wealth. Recent launches include: Simple Guaranteed, private market investments for accredited investors, ETF Explorer.

  • Engage customers in developing valuable investing habits - Build systems that encourage customer interactions and grow StashAway’s customer base. Drive new rewards and promotion mechanics, evolve our referral systems, and enable more relevant marketing campaigns.

  • Drive a delightful customer onboarding experience and increase conversion - Improve our customers’ first impression of StashAway and remove the barriers to entry when it comes to investing. Ship features like: electronic-KYC flows, and UX improvements to reduce onboarding friction, and improved account security features.

  • Contribute to core engineering platforms - Drive impact beyond your product domain by working on the shared platforms powering our engineering team. Ship a better mobile release process, push better internal tooling for our Temporal workflow platform, or improve our extensible internal admin framework.

As a software engineer at StashAway, you are accountable for outcomes, not just tasks. You own:

  • The end-to-end success of your team’s initiatives, from initial technical design, to implementation and delivery, to business impact.

  • The health and reliability of your systems in production, including their stability, performance, and the effectiveness of your response to any incidents.

  • The quality and maintainability of the code you and your team ship, contributing positively to the long-term health of our platform.

  • The growth and effectiveness of your team, elevating your teammates’ capabilities through peer mentorship, code reviews, and fostering a culture of feedback.
