About the Role
StashAway’s People & Culture team is growing! We are looking for an enthusiastic People Operations Lead to own the people operations function within our team. This is a mid level role with some people management responsibilities.
This role is the operational backbone of our People & Culture team. You will own and optimise our core HR processes and systems, using a data-driven, hands-on approach to ensure efficiency and a great employee experience, while also acting as a trusted HR partner to managers and employees.
Key Responsibilities
People Operations & Systems: Own our HRIS (BambooHR) as the single source of truth, ensuring data integrity. Proactively identify and fix broken processes by building solutions like dynamic spreadsheets and automating high-volume communications.
HR Business Partnering: Serve as the primary P&C partner for managers and employees in Malaysia & Singapore, providing expert guidance on performance management, and employee relations.
Total Rewards Administration: Oversee the administration of all employee benefits (including health insurance across regions) and our Employee Share Option Plan (ESOP), managing renewals and employee queries.
Lifecycle & Performance Management: Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle by owning the strategy for onboarding and offboarding, and project-managing our bi-annual performance evaluation cycles.
Data & Compliance: Maintain meticulous, audit-ready employee records and serve as the main point of contact for compliance requests. Build and maintain P&C dashboards to provide data insights to the business

Identify and overhaul manual administrative work across the employee lifecycle, freeing up the team to focus on more strategic work
Accountabilities for the role
HRIS & Data Integrity: Own BambooHR as the single source of truth, maintaining 99%+ accuracy for all employee data to ensure reliable reporting and operations.
Operational Excellence & Process Improvement: Drive efficiency by identifying, re-building, and automating core P&C processes (e.g., document generation, data management), tangibly reducing manual workload for the team.
HR Partnership & Employee Relations: Act as a trusted and effective P&C advisor for managers and employees in Malaysia, demonstrated by the successful and empathetic resolution of queries and employee relations cases.
Successful Management of HR Programs: Ensure the seamless, end-to-end execution of critical P&C cycles, including performance reviews, benefits renewals, and the employee lifecycle (onboarding/offboarding), meeting deadlines and ensuring a positive employee experience.
Compliance & Audit Readiness: Maintain all HR records and processes in an audit-ready state, serving as the primary contact to ensure all compliance requirements are met with no major findings.
Must Haves:
Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data structuring.
Demonstrated experience managing core HR operations (HRIS, onboarding, performance cycles) in a fast-paced, tech-forward environment.
A "figure-it-out" mindset: Proven ability to work independently, handle ambiguity, and build processes from scratch without a set playbook
