Software Engineer (DevOps)

We’re expanding our Platform team and looking for a Software Engineer who is excited to work at the intersection of software engineering and infrastructure. If you’re passionate about enabling teams through robust core services and infrastructure, and eager to learn the tools that keep modern systems scalable, secure, and reliable, this role is for you.
2+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with some exposure to infrastructure or platform work.
Strong product mindset and empathy for developers as users—you’re driven to make tools and systems that are intuitive and reliable.
Experience (or willingness to learn) in:
Building distributed systems and understanding service-to-service communication (REST, Kafka, etc.).
Working with cloud-native technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform).
Building applications with TypeScript, Node.js, React, React Native, or Go.
Monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar).
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, especially across teams with varied technical backgrounds.
A proactive, ownership-driven approach—you’re comfortable seeking out problems and solving them even when they span multiple domains.
You’ll work on critical shared services like our API gateway, authentication systems, and internal developer tooling.
You’ll also help shape and support the platform layer — designing infrastructure-as-code, managing Kubernetes manifests, and automating operations with modern tooling like Terraform, Flux, and Helm.
You don’t need a traditional DevOps or infrastructure background (none is ok)— but you must be excited to learn and contribute across the full stack, from application code to cloud-native infrastructure.
You’ll collaborate with engineers across domains to build systems that are secure, observable, and easy to operate — paving the way for our teams to move faster with confidence.
Extending critical shared services, by adding rigorously tested and robust new features.
Identify and implement improvements to streamline development work (e.g. more efficient code implementations, better leveraging caching to increase throughput - could be docker, could be applications).
Research and carry out PoCs of new technology to understand potential benefits to teams and the organisation.
