Overview: The Dispatcher coordinates all daily floral deliveries by assigning routes, tracking driver progress, and ensuring orders arrive on time. This role communicates with designers, drivers, and customers to handle updates, address issues, and adjust routes as needed. The Dispatcher keeps delivery operations running smoothly so every arrangement reaches its destination accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and assign daily delivery routes; adjust routes for traffic, order changes, and urgent requests.
Verify order details, timing, and special instructions; ensure designs are ready for dispatch.
Update order statuses in the POS/dispatch system and manage real-time communication with drivers.
Communicate delivery windows, delays, and confirmations to customers; resolve delivery issues quickly.
Coordinate with sales and event teams on large event setups and schedules.
Maintain delivery logs, ensure efficient loading, and support peak-season operations.
Uphold company standards for delivery accuracy, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in dispatching, routing, customer service, or logistics—preferably in a floral, retail, or event-based business.
Ability to multitask and manage time-sensitive requests in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and team-coordination skills.
Familiarity with local geography and efficient route planning.
Comfortable using POS systems, dispatch tools, and GPS/routing apps.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Friendly, professional, and team-oriented demeanor.
Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of delivery etiquette and recipient contact rules.
Bilingual abilities (optional but helpful).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.
Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 40 pounds (flower buckets, boxes, supplies).
Comfortable working in cooler environments and with water-based materials.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use of hands and arms for arranging, cutting, and wrapping flowers. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Schedule
Part-time
Must be available to work weekends
4 days a week, may lead up to 5 days: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday, with availability on holidays as needed.
Hours: Mondays/Tuesdays from 11:30am-8:00pm, Saturdays/Sundays from 1:30-5:30pm
Benefits and Compensation:
$21 - $24.00/hour
